
Don't put anything over the roots of a tree. That causes suffocation because roots need air as much as they need water. Don't bury the tree in additional soil or under rocks. FILL KILLS.
You can't live for more than a day or so without water. Trees need a regular supply of water.
I don’t want to list all the ways that people often do transplanting badly. I would rather write out how to do it well. If you read carefully, you’ll have a high chance of success.
